PS5 - Clay Modelling and PS6 - Sketching

This morning I was finally able to make it to the machine shop on CMU's campus to laser-cut my paper pattern to use for PS5: Clay Modelling. While I did the ideation and final concept sketches about a month ago, this particular assignment has been on hold due to software difficulties and the timing of the design expo for the class. Tonight I'm planning on using wood glue to assemble the paper model, let it dry overnight, and then I'll fill the glued paper model with rapidly expanding foam tomorrow afternoon. Once the foam has hardened, I should have two good evenings to finish the clay modelling.

For this assignment, I chose something that relates to my personal interests to make it more enjoyable - in this case, my dog! Brooklyn is 2 years old and showing no signs of slowing down, so the retractable leash ideas were inspired by our frequent walks. :-)

I was able to finish PS6 yesterday, choosing to sketch variations of scissors, an Oster blender that we have yet to use, and some binder clips. Went with a household item theme.
